September Sports Showreel

WELCOME to the final weekend of September 2019. The month end post is usually dedicated to Carlisle United Football Club - That post is below. But first, the summer of cricket and autumn of cycling have, through the breaks in commentaries of innings or events, brought us some links to what social media, or mostly YouTube in this case, has to offer in relation to those sports. So, if you were listening closely to Test Match Special or following the commentaries of the cycling events recently, you may relate to some of the following. If not, I just hope you enjoy them anyways.

Introducing Pavel Florin, the Romanian bowler who has become popular on social media, due to his slightly unusual bowling action. Test Match Special met and interviewed Pavel on Sunday 18 August 2019. The ICC produced this profile of Pavel Florin, bodyguard, bouncer and bowler.

England v New Zealand produced an epic Cricket World Cup Final this summer and whilst TMS reflected on the Final during the Ashes series, memories turned to another England v New Zealand encounter - Philip Clive Roderick Tufnell v New Zealand, 1992.

Phil Tufnell was a great servant to England Cricket - As a bowler - Though here is a moment to enjoy P C R Tufnell "batting" against the bowling of Shane Warne in an Ashes over.

Cycling has brought us great moments from the Tour de France and the Tour of Britain this year, but here is a moment to savour cycling from the heart of Africa. The Tour du Rwanda is a course with one very fearsome stage: The Wall of Kigali.

Closing out this cycling section is the UCI 2019 Road World Championships, which had everything Yorkshire could offer - Including the weather. Some days were good, some days... Well, here is coverage of the Men's Under 23 Individual Time Trial, Tuesday 24 September 2019. Ouch.
